about 2faced1.com

2FACED1.com shows one persons two different faces in photos;

Persona 1:
WHAT YOU WANT TO BE
CONSIDERED AS

Persona 2:
WHAT YOU FEAR TO BE
CONSIDERED AS

This leads to a discussion about stereotypes and inner fears of getting misunderstood by the surroundings. Thoughts that every thinking modern day person does reflect upon. We're asking every day people from an innercity context where old categories as ethnicity, nationality, gender, sexuality and class are reassessed, why they choose to look like they do. We’re diggin' deep, peeling off garments, codes and attributes. We’re searching for transnational identities - is the conclusion that we choose whoever we want to be today?!

A 2FACED1 STATE OF MIND

A 2FACED1 is highly aware of existing stereotypes related to your own ethnicity, nationality, gender, sexuality and class. You’re trying to avoid them but sometimes also play with them to make people think twice about who you are. Two faced doesn’t mean anything negative here, it explains the double folded view you have on identity if you’re not the existing norm. It means you have the feet in different worlds, can move between them but feel rather at home in that space in between. You've stepped out of your comfort zone and have become one of the new identities where ol' categories are mashed up and rootlessness and non-given identity just means major possibilities.

Cheapo By Knotan and Me

Post date Tue 26 Feb 2008 1:30 PM
Swedish shoebrand Cheapo wanted me to help photographer Knotan out with the styling part for their new collection. Usually I take a huge part in the choice of location, casting modells etc but here I just came with a huge bag of clothes, one of my absolute favv models Jossan Sondlo(who now recently JC did cast for their new compaign, the one Selam did this summer...rumors say they doing "Nu Rave" and "Retro Hip Hop" so update your style ppl or you might look like a JC ad....) cause they wanted me to bring an extra modell and make up artist Susanne, not knowing much at all. I tried to keep it black and white with some small african or just pattern accents, just to have a thread in it. Knotan shoots in a relistic more Terry Richardsonesque skate trashie style, I met him at the Nike Be True event last friday and he showed me some of his new stuff, he was definitely after the rawness, blood included.

It was good to do something a bit different this time, it came out a lot cleaner that I usually do:

Levis 501 that's the shit, perfect fit for 2008 - the in between size. The Classic Wall Street Shirt can't go wrong. 50 ies glasses...like Spike
The Jeansjacket! It's not supposed to look like an afro eaven though it does here, she's faded on the sides. Love those shoes (cheapo ppl is mine on their way ;))
