about 2faced1.com

2FACED1.com shows one persons two different faces in photos;

Persona 1:
WHAT YOU WANT TO BE
CONSIDERED AS

Persona 2:
WHAT YOU FEAR TO BE
CONSIDERED AS

This leads to a discussion about stereotypes and inner fears of getting misunderstood by the surroundings. Thoughts that every thinking modern day person does reflect upon. We're asking every day people from an innercity context where old categories as ethnicity, nationality, gender, sexuality and class are reassessed, why they choose to look like they do. We’re diggin' deep, peeling off garments, codes and attributes. We’re searching for transnational identities - is the conclusion that we choose whoever we want to be today?!

A 2FACED1 STATE OF MIND

A 2FACED1 is highly aware of existing stereotypes related to your own ethnicity, color, nationality, gender, sexual orientation and class. You’re trying to avoid them but sometimes also play with them to make people think twice about who you are. Two faced doesn’t mean anything negative here, it explains the double folded view you have on identity if you’re not the existing norm. Self awareness is a gift, because it also helps you to understand other peoples situations better. To be a 2FACED1 is to have the feet in different worlds, be able to move between them but feel rather at home in that space in between. You've stepped out of your comfort zone and has become one of the new identities where ol' categories are mashed up and rootlessness and non-given identity just means major possibilities.

Our Heads Where Somewhere Else

Post date Sun 5 May 2013 7:28 PM

On Sundays, in spring, the wind had its special way of blowing over an empty, grainy sidewalk in Uppsala. Had been waiting all week for the weekend because something exciting could go down. But the expectations hardly never became fulfilled. Maybe because our heads always where somewhere else.

Q.U.E.E.N.

Post date Thu 2 May 2013 10:48 AM

It's here, the video for Q.U.E.E.N. Ok. the funk sound is far from surprising. Your hopes are high over these women on the same track, which can lead to disappointment. Erykah flows on the the beat the way only she can but it's not until Janelle pulls of a rap it really does something for me! That something is sometimes concealed in her artistery - but right there it is a glance of it! Can I get more?!

I asked a question like this
"Are we a lost generation of our people?
Add us to equations but they'll never make us equal.
She who writes the movie owns the script and the sequel.
So why ain't the stealing of my rights made illegal?
They keep us underground working hard for the greedy,
But when it's time pay they turn around and call us needy.
My crown too heavy like the Queen Nefertiti
Gimme back my pyramid, I'm trying to free Kansas City.
Mixing masterminds like your name Bernie Grundman.
Well I'm gonna keep leading like a young Harriet Tubman
You can take my wings but I'm still goin' fly
And even when you edit me the booty don't lie
Yeah, keep singing and I'mma keep writing songs
I'm tired of Marvin asking me, "What's Going On?
March to the streets 'cuz I'm willing and I'm able
Categorize me, I defy every label
And while you're selling dope, we're gonna keep selling hope
We rising up now, you gotta deal you gotta cope
Will you be electric sheep?
Electric ladies, will you sleep?
Or will you preach?"

Ps. If you missed; I sat down with Ms Monáe some year ago, I had to work to get a hint of the woman behind the artist from what I remember.

Style Moments 1992

My big bru Apollo has told me about the early 90's in Paris, when he used to dance with Army Of Lovers in the middle of their heyday. La Camilla was the amazon and Jean Paul just as Thierry Mugler were both amazed by her whole appearance! Apollo told me Camilla's dress was so tight so she couldn't do a proper catwalk wich instead lead to JPG finding this dog and turned it to a dogwalk (nifty huh!). The whole Gaultier show from 1992 was inspired by Jaque Tati's film "Mon Oncle"!

THE SOUNDTRACK TODAY: Jassie Ware got something new " Imagine it Was Us" - this one will be spinning over here during the spring, it's def so my type of jam! Listen to this while checking out videos below!

MINDFVCK

RZA is the only collaborator on James Blake's "Overgrown" album, genius move! "Take A Fall For Me" was performed at Choachella, I just wish they've made it less rap concert and more theater performance for once, cause it's such noble song. Nabil's video for "Overgrown" was really good, I bet you've already seen it.

My favorite video right now is this amazingly beautiful piece, Ian Isiah featuring the one and only Boy Child by director Mitch Moore!

M1NDFVCK from IAN ISIAH on Vimeo.

And then boom there comes Ciara with a new good one "Body Party" which picks a piece from one of my long time favorite Summer Anthems: Ghost Town DJ's "My Boo". Can't go wrong! The most twisted thing about this is that the vixen, or call him the hunk of the video looks like my boyfriend I had around the time when "My Boo" was out!

PS. Also take some time an analyze the "sexiness" of Ian vs. Ciara's videos

All Good

Up early, keeping promise.

Listening to KarlX Johan feat Kelow

Mo Thugs feat. Kryzie Bone "All Good"

Reading: (SWE) Gellert Tamas "Det är dags att sluta sjunga nu"

Watching: Young Rapunxel and I'm thinking about Mapei again

Gnucci's new Goddah remix!

Cute add below though one keep thinking of what would happen if they would have done the same thing but with guys? I bet the pictures themselves would look better... What does that say about the beauty industry?

If you dwell in Stockholm you find me at Jung today

Premier: The Ocean!

Post date Fri 1 Mar 2013 12:12 AM

It's here! The Fader just released the video for the 2FACED1-project, the short film The Ocean, wich of course also is the new single by Saturday, Monday featuring Julia Spada. Maceo Frost and Robin Günther took Bianca and Dennis to the island of Öland, yes you've seen Jasmin's pictures - those beautiful, cold Öland days.

Take a listen, the song is so beautiful, Julia's vocals are splendid and the universial tale of letting go is something all of us have our own private backdrop to.

GMT YOLO BFF

OMG so much YOLO right now. GMT (Gypsie's Mega Trip) to Centralamerica is (almost) oooooon, atleast GMT to the closest one night stand in Stockholm (moved out of my flat 5 days ago). And 2night my BFF aka The One And Only aka Mykki Blanco aka THE rapstar is coming to Stockholm again (Berns 22.00) and this time we're definitly gonna steal tattoo machines, carve EAT FUCK KILL (as Amy's pin in Doom Generation) into each others skin and live (un)happily forever after together. First I'm just gonna finish this stalking operation to find out if it was Avicii or another boring Avicii copy my anonymous friend Jonas made out with last night.

PS. Dedicate this post to DOTHEDABO-Alex who thinks I'm ol' granny from the 1800th century and don't understand "Internet language". LOL

Win Tickets To Mykki Blanco 2Morrow (STHLM)

Speaking of two-faced-one huh?! I saw Mykki Blanco last year:

"Every fan of hardcore rap should have been there yesterday. You know me - always had a soft spot for dem hardcore rappers since way back. Hence I happen to be one of the 30+ ladies who in the right mood would be body slaming at any OF, or say ONYX, concert

Imagine then the pleasentness of going nuts to 2FACED1-certified rap, cause o'boy, there is a huge difference in going stupid to the sound of a stereotypophobe like Mykki Blanco, compered to any straight, masculine, agressive stereotype." (Link to this old Blog Post)

Mykki is playing at BERNS tomorrow and this will be one of the concerts you just can't miss. Lucky you 2FACED1-reader, cause one lucky winner gets 2 tickets to the concert! Answer this question before kl 14.00 tomorrow.

WHO ARE LEAST LIKELY TO BE MYKKI BLANCO's PARENTS (Update: we had to change the questions cause two answers was right!!!)

a) MADONNA & DENNIS RODMAN

b) IGGY POP & SARAH PALIN

c) OL DIRTY BASTARD & MARILYN MANSON

EMAIL: hi2faced1@gmail.com (before 14.00 tomorrow Wednesday the 6th)

(Ps. Old rap dudes who think this is a gimmick, go see Mykki live...as trill as it gets)

Rosie Rose

Post date Tue 22 Jan 2013 5:25 PM

My brother is a bit selfish sometimes. "Rosie Rose" has been around for the last couple of years - just between our walls. Finally he's letting go of her.

Zanchy on production once again.
