about 2faced1.com

2FACED1.com shows one persons two different faces in photos;

Persona 1:
WHAT YOU WANT TO BE
CONSIDERED AS

Persona 2:
WHAT YOU FEAR TO BE
CONSIDERED AS

This leads to a discussion about stereotypes and inner fears of getting misunderstood by the surroundings. Thoughts that every thinking modern day person does reflect upon. We're asking every day people from an innercity context where old categories as ethnicity, nationality, gender, sexuality and class are reassessed, why they choose to look like they do. We’re diggin' deep, peeling off garments, codes and attributes. We’re searching for transnational identities - is the conclusion that we choose whoever we want to be today?!

A 2FACED1 STATE OF MIND

A 2FACED1 is highly aware of existing stereotypes related to your own ethnicity, color, nationality, gender, sexual orientation and class. You’re trying to avoid them but sometimes also play with them to make people think twice about who you are. Two faced doesn’t mean anything negative here, it explains the double folded view you have on identity if you’re not the existing norm. Self awareness is a gift, because it also helps you to understand other peoples situations better. To be a 2FACED1 is to have the feet in different worlds, be able to move between them but feel rather at home in that space in between. You've stepped out of your comfort zone and has become one of the new identities where ol' categories are mashed up and rootlessness and non-given identity just means major possibilities.

Stylosopher: Michele Lamy

We've been spotting the ferocious Michele Lamy here and there, among other sites, over at A Shaded View Of Fashion. It's definitively more than time for some spotlight on her RAW STYLE, gold teeth included!

Michele Lamy has been managing one of LA hypest spots of the 90 ies; Les Deux Cafe, but is, among fashion heads, more known for being  businesspartner and wife of Rick Owens (left photo) and also one of Gareth Pugh investors (right).

AXL Anti Fashion

Photo: Life MagazinePhoto: Life Magazine

You probably seen images of the young AXL ROSE her & there over the net lately, more people than Jeremy Scott, John Galliano, models Jamie Burke and Alice Dellal have been influenced by his dramatic, trashy and cocky anti-fashion look. GUNS n ROSES were gigantic in the late 80ies/early 90 ies, after the milestone "Appetite For Destruction" (For those like me that always i slooking for the funk "Welcome To The Jungle" ) and people all over the world became fascinated by the little red head dude's energy and falsetto,  I have to use a cliche, but you know cliches always speaks the truth....: AXL + Slash + Crew were all sucha ROCK STARS. Im coming to think of some of the later work; the striking and bombastic November Rain video with super model Stephanie Saymour (picture above, also bitchslapping in Don't Cry) in the role as sassy bride, the world was watching!

It's one of these days were AXL is the best Stylosopher you can get, cause you don't wanna put any effort into it...not into smiling either...

Quotes On MJ

Post date Fri 26 Jun 2009 7:05 PM

LISA MARIE PRIESTLYs MYSPACE BLOG "He Knew"
Our relationship was not 'a sham' as is being reported in the press. It
was an unusual relationship yes, where two unusual people who did
not live or know a "Normal life" found a connection

MADONNA People Mag
"I can't stop crying over the sad news,"
"I have always admired Michael Jackson. The world has
lost one of the greats, but his music will live on forever!
My heart goes out to his three children and other members
of his family. God bless."

AL SHARPTON
"Way before Tiger Woods, way before Oprah Winfrey, way
before Barack Obama, Michael did with music what they
later did in sports and in politics and in television,"

QUINCY JONES
“I am absolutely devastated at this tragic and unexpected news.
For Michael to be taken away from us so suddenly at such a young
ge, I just don’t have the words. Divinity brought our souls together
on The Wiz and allowed us to do what we were able to throughout
the 80’s. To this day, the music we created together on “Off The
Wall,” “Thriller” and “Bad” is played in every corner of the world
and the reason for that is because he had it all…talent, grace,
professionalism and dedication. He was the consummate
entertainer and his contributions and legacy will be felt
upon the world forever. I’ve lost my little brother today,
and part of my soul has gone with him.”

MF DOOM
"A little bit of everyone died today. I can tell
you a piece of me just did."

TRICK DADDY:
"MJ made black folks proud. He influenced
our music and our style of dress. He taught us what it meant
to be a 'performer.' He was our beloved icon, and we'll hold him
in our hearts forever. We've just lost the most loved, talented
and famous African-American in the world. Everyone from
the age of 25-80 should be saddened by this loss, and if you're
younger and you don't know the history, you need to learn it.
Michael paved the way for blacks into the mainstream."

ERYKAH BADU
"that music shaped me . The freaquency is real. My heart and
artistry are truly influenced and forever impacted. ...Thank you
Michael for your hard work , dedication ,
philanthropy & the sacrifice of your young spirit . Your visio
n and imagination live thru us. I don’t know what to say."

BERRY GORDY
“I had no concern about his ability to go to the top,”
“He was like my son. He had warmth, sensitivity and two
personalities.”
“Michael was and will remain one of the greatest entertainers
that ever lived,” “When he was not on stage, he was loving,
respectful and shy. When he WAS on stage, he was so in charge
you would not believe he was the same person. I extend my
sympathies to Joe, Katherine and the entire Jackson family.
My prayers are with them.”

A Moment In A Magnificant Life

Post date Fri 19 Jun 2009 4:59 PM

Found this photo yesterday when i did some research, never seen it before:

As Shamoun said when I ended my story on Ms Graces hat during
her Stockholm visit:" I understood she's real, she's like that for
real if she, nearly 60 yrs old, wears a hat like that a random night
out in Stockholm of all places"
