2FACED1.com shows one persons two different faces in photos;
Persona 1: WHAT YOU WANT TO BE CONSIDERED AS
Persona 2: WHAT YOU FEAR TO BE CONSIDERED AS
This leads to a discussion about stereotypes and inner fears of getting misunderstood by the surroundings. Thoughts that every thinking modern day person does reflect upon. We're asking every day people from an innercity context where old categories as ethnicity, nationality, gender, sexuality and class are reassessed, why they choose to look like they do. We’re diggin' deep, peeling off garments, codes and attributes. We’re searching for transnational identities - is the conclusion that we choose whoever we want to be today?!
A 2FACED1 STATE OF MIND
A 2FACED1 is highly aware of existing stereotypes related to your own ethnicity, color, nationality, gender, sexual orientation and class. You’re trying to avoid them but sometimes also play with them to make people think twice about who you are. Two faced doesn’t mean anything negative here, it explains the double folded view you have on identity if you’re not the existing norm. Self awareness is a gift, because it also helps you to understand other peoples situations better. To be a 2FACED1 is to have the feet in different worlds, be able to move between them but feel rather at home in that space in between. You've stepped out of your comfort zone and has become one of the new identities where ol' categories are mashed up and rootlessness and non-given identity just means major possibilities.
2FACED1 is a state of mind, 2FACED1.com is a display-window for this mindset and the network of 2FACED1 includes all of you progressive non-stereotypes with a double perspective on identity.

I've been in Paris a couple of times this spring, preparing for Robyn's Cold Play tour. What we've been doing is as a matter of fact a small collaboration with Kenzo!
When I heard Carol and Humberto was taking over Kenzo about a year ago I immediately felt that it was like the most natural decision. I validate how they understand the brand and also the importance of keeping the Kenzo Takada spirit alive while at the same time re-newing it for the present day! I think their American background and transnational roots adds a very important piece of the last 30 years to a brand as transnational as Kenzo is, in it's core. It's a brand for the modern (wo)man who decide upon one's own identity - just like also Robyn does!
The Kenzo blog Kenzine did an interview with me, go over there and read more! Ps. More photos + outfits to come.
There we found ourselves at the Kenzo f/w 12 show in Paris, all matched up in a bright color scale longing for the real spring. Not intentionally at all, and I'm honest. Like it wasn't enough with the two of us, Mr Combs himself suddenly appears in, yes you're right. ALL beige. Like it's not even enough with all of us three, next to him a person in hat and long coat - nearly identical to my own silhouette, minus the religious symbolic value that is. Some remember rapper Shyne, who's life took an other turn after the shooting incident also involving Diddy/J-Lo 10 years ago.
All white like a party by Diddy back when he was Puffy. When I wrote this line <- here I did not know I was going to hang out with the dude upcoming weekend hahaha!
Finally it's time to post the Grammy outfit. Robyn wear Calvin Klein tee, Philip van de Roq earpiece, Back Ateljé ring, Timbs, and an little bag that José helped us out to take from idea to reality! Skirt is a development of the silouette of a dress Ann-Sofie Back made for Robyn last year, short front long back, R likes it cause it suits her lenght better than an all long. This one is even more simplistic in it's construction to go with the style and is made in a very special stiff fabric that Lena helped me to develop. It's a pity you don't get the feeling throgh your screen, cause it adds something special to the mix!
Sometimes a lazy retarded creature exchanges body with me. A perfect example of when it did happen is the following post. The day before the SNL performance (like a month ago...) Opening Ceremony together with CANDY magazine threw a party. I had been in contact with Jacky who came up with the idea of R performing, lady gave her yes, and since Candy is famous for it's covers of stars in drag, James Franco and the last issue Cloë Sevigny (who hosted the party Terry R, + new line for Opening Cermony) Robyn of course needed to get that drag race on. I suggested a little blond mustache haha, but a better idea was to drag as a...woman! I mean it can't get much more drag if it's d r a g we on to! Lot's of women all over the world doing that drag as we speak...
Short notice, a burgundy wig, huge fake lashes and a big Opening Cermony fur coat later Robyn looked like somebody...else! She got up on the bar and started singing, and I don't think the audience realized it was the "real" Robyn until she pulled off her wig on stage. Ouf, people went totally bananas in the small Monster venue. I also bumped in to people who I was in contact with during the MySpace-years and some of you blog readers. Always jolly when it happens <3!
We had a fun night, check all photos over at Opening Ceremony for all the NYC profiles, name check Hamish Bowles, Ellen von Unwerth, Amanda Lapore, Clayton Patterson, Cloë, you get the crowd.
Style + Music -> of course I'm hyper everytime Mtv Style salutes R. Here's behind the scene photos from SNL, where Mtv took a quick chat with Robz. The leggings are such a great idea by Alexander Wang. To go with it an Opening Cermony/Rodarte top and our customized CK Belt, and finally the Philip van de Roq x Decida Style collar clip (under Collection -> Collar Clip). Oh and also; behind her you see the hostess of the nights SNL show; Katy Perry.
What a trip it's been! New York, to just step out the door and know anything can happen! I've been thinking about ways to put some kind of summation together, but we've just been through so much, met so many great people (both on a personal and professional level) that it just feels impossible to put down in 0 and 1's.
Some huge thank you's to, of course, the one and only Robyn, for taking us all on this journey, thanks to band, Ali + crew, Interscope & Cherry Tree, the whole SNL cast, Alexander Wang & Co, Stevie Huynh & Steven Aturo, Jacky & Opening Cermony, Marcus Holmlund, Jeremy Scott & Pablo. And to Helen, best hostess ever!
And I'm so thankful for all the love we've been given! Officially and in private!
"The pop music stars were (literally/figuratively/awesomely) aligned on Saturday evening when Swedish pop gem Robyn (and her BANANAS custom platform Timbs) took the SNL stage and former tour homegirl Katy Perry was the night's hostest-with-the-mostess. But was America ready for the Swedish pop tart with a bite and her body-rollin, making-out-with-herself dance moves? She did a backwards-somersault-into-a-full-on-dance-floor-hump while rocking a pristine bowl cut (which our little brothers totally had in '96) WHILST singing "Call Your Girlfriend," and it might've actually changed our lives, like, forevs. *dead* Call US, girlfriend. Not only do we wanna borrow those bouncy moves, we also want to raid that suitcase of yours."
"Swedish Pop singer Robyn was the latest musical act to guest perform on Saturday Night Live here in New York. Her outfits are always on point and Saturday’s showcase was no exception. MTV quickly picked up on who made her jacket and leggings but was stumped as to who created the crazy CK corset she wore, comprised entirely of assorted Calvin Klein boxer brief bands sewn together."
Bret Easton Ellis tweeted:
"Robyn. SNL. Awkward. Real. Probably the best musical guest they've had all season: Call Your Girlfriend and Dancing On My Own equal awesome."
"I don't need to give her advice, she needs to give me advice. She's cool, dude. She makes everyone cooler. ... She's just, like, the epitome of effortless cool, like you look at her wardrobe and you think, 'I don't think I could wear that,' but she wears it and she just owns it."
"She's always wearing platform shoes. And she was wearing them way back when, in the beginning of the tour. And now Prada's doing them; everyone's wearing them. Rihanna's wearing them. I'm wearing them after all of the convincing, so she's kind of the tastemaker. It's gonna be a great show because of that.
And the + list goes on... but there's been some minus signs too, of course, that's how you know you are doing something different - not everyone will recognize it. I bet some viewers thought who the fuck is this, what the fuck is she wearing and how the hell is she dancing? That's how it should be, don't follow the blue print, it only leads to sterotypes, and that we have a phobia of. + I know we got the heavy weights with us...and our hearts!
We kept working with what we've been doing during the whole Body Talk tour, stickin to our grapes. So the silhouette is the same, Alexander Wang blessed us with an plastic jacket from SS12 and a vest from the latest Resort Collection. Then the Ck Belt and leggings from Australian brand Black Milk (yes the fans can get their own). Before I left Sweden we also designed a new top, it follows bellow.
