about 2faced1.com

2FACED1.com shows one persons two different faces in photos;

Persona 1:

Persona 2:

This leads to a discussion about stereotypes and inner fears of getting misunderstood by the surroundings. Thoughts that every thinking modern day person does reflect upon. We're asking every day people from an innercity context where old categories as ethnicity, nationality, gender, sexuality and class are reassessed, why they choose to look like they do. We’re diggin' deep, peeling off garments, codes and attributes. We’re searching for transnational identities - is the conclusion that we choose whoever we want to be today?!

A 2FACED1 is highly aware of existing stereotypes related to your own ethnicity, color, nationality, gender, sexual orientation and class. You’re trying to avoid them but sometimes also play with them to make people think twice about who you are. Two faced doesn’t mean anything negative here, it explains the double folded view you have on identity if you’re not the existing norm. Self awareness is a gift, because it also helps you to understand other peoples situations better. To be a 2FACED1 is to have the feet in different worlds, be able to move between them but feel rather at home in that space in between. You've stepped out of your comfort zone and has become one of the new identities where ol' categories are mashed up and rootlessness and non-given identity just means major possibilities.

Robyn at SNL pt. 1 - The Jacket

Post date Sat 17 Dec 2011 1:24 AM

We recreate a M51 Nike Jacket into a shorter, sassier thing. Me on the concept, Lena on the handicraft! Robyn wore it for the promo shoot's, it became green in the graphics but further down you see the original blue one. To be worn with open kimono sleeves or, closed sleeve as R above. Beneath she wears an knitted Alexander Wang sweater, brown stockings and the Timbs.

SNL does Call Your Girlfriend!!!

Post date Wed 14 Dec 2011 2:32 PM

Taran Killam of Saturday Night Live (formely on Scrubs among other coms), came to our backstage room at SNL's Thursday rehearsals, to tell us about his "Call Your Girlfriend" experience! Many have tried but few have re-created the moves and expression with such a passion. And then I haven't even started raving about  the space he's doing it on!!!! You see it below!

The comparison!

Read more about the video shoot here!

Ps. Don't miss out on Taran's hilarious EMINEM impression here.

Hollywood Bowlin'

Post date Tue 6 Dec 2011 7:34 AM

And finally, the Robyn at the legendary Hollywood Bowl - post:

What an amazing night! I'm happy to have experienced such a thing on such legendary ground. Robin's achivement was the top of top notch and the 10 000 people in the audience went crazy b-a-n-a-n-a-s!!! We had some minor problems with the lightning, but overall it was a perfect night. I'm really satisfied with the intro (We Dance To The Beat / DFTMWTD) , something we had the idea of changing to make the starting point more powerful and it worked out sooo well! We had very little time to rehears that but with professional people everything gets solved anyhow! Just because we did this change we had to go all white so the UV light would catch Robyn in the dark, she was wearing the white McQueen tights some might have seen before but to that a knitleather body me together with Lena Buss have created for R to bw able to werk it out in.

"She's the definition of "fierce" on stage, donning wild, androgynous '80s-style get-ups, busting moves that put Beyonce to shame, and singing her obviously love-scarred heart out like it's the last time she'll ever get the chance.

The bells and whistles never overshadowed the performer herself, though. Unlike other pop divas Robyn doesn't rely on backup dancers, a zillion costume changes or cheesy props."

LA Weekley

The after party turned into a wrecking shop where a skirt, not even by the brand of Jean Paul Gaultier, wasn't a good choice of clothing.  It was one of those parties where we didn't have the time to take pictures...!!! And my muscles was hurting the day after.

If someone seen pictures from the second change, the CK belt + blue/bright tights please do enlighten me!

The amazing audience, shot by moi!!!

Did someone say legendary ground. huh?

Life of a 2FACED1 growing up in Sweden! I didn't know Robyn back here, I knew of her but I didn't know her. But we had a lot of similarities going on, even if I had the regualr teen time and was only dreaming of going to New York...! Stay tuned to see what superstar had a crush on the 17 year old Robyn haha (I'm still waiting for the Swedish tabloids to do a poster of this?!) and see more of life was for the 17 year old Robyn feat. Cause this is red carpet for a KICKER all, yall! She wears a dress by Pedro Lourenço, to bad you can't se the fabric better it's gold treads in the transparent white, the black Jeremy Scott platform Adidas you've seen before + tights + pearls and Robyn's mum's shades from the 80'es!!! I will call it a tribute to Swedish youth culture, and the Swedish 2FACED1s of the last 30 years!

Robyn's Pedro Lourenço Jacket

Post date Thu 3 Nov 2011 9:09 PM

I got to know that, Brazilian wunderkind of fashion: Pedro Lourenço, happened to love Robyn when I met him during fashion week in Paris thank's to my friend Sabina Kasper. I love Pedro's way of working with shapes and material so we just had to make him do something especially for her! You saw it on LENO: a special edition of the white leather jacket from his SS11 collection!

Off we went, straight after Robyn's ELLEN performance, LAX and flight to Seattle was next. Arriving made us feel closer to home, since the weather and nature bare similarities with Sweden, not like we had time to check it out we went straight to the Hotel and fell asleep immediatly. Thursday morning, dance studio, sound check (at the beautiful venue, the Paramount Theatre) + some changes in the set list, to see what could work for the Hollywood Bowl. Make Up, dressing and it was on! Sound on the Sound tells all you need to know:

"Robyn is metal, think about it. She is from Sweden, the birthplace of black metal (or at least I can convince you of this), her band-mates dress like scientists. Alchemy is metal, literally. She dances in a manner that says I don’t give a fuck that is the visual definition of expressive freedom. “Metal” can be considered an expression of musical freedom. At the very least “punk” is mostly described as such. Basically Robyn is the dance-pop version of Motorhead. Mark my words, Lemmy will be on the next Robyn album. [Writer's Note: She also has metal pinwheels on-stage. If a metal pinwheel is not an instrument of death (instruments that bring about the demise of others equals "metal"), then what is?]

Who's Bringing it? At Leno. Ofc. Robyn!

Post date Wed 2 Nov 2011 12:56 AM
